No matter if times are good or times are bad, there is one thing I need every hour. I can’t imagine life without this one thing. Especially now, as I struggle with chronic pain and my husband is ill as well, I truly need Christ every hour.
- I need him in the late-night hours when the pain will not stop.
- I need him early in the morning as I lie in bed and my mind races with the worries of the coming day.
- He is needed when I sit down to pay bills but the funds don’t cover the expenses.
- I can’t live without him through the lonely days when just need someone to talk to.
The old hymn had it right, you know. We do need him every hour. And now Chris Rice sings the same theme in a contemporary song. Those words ring so true for me now. When I sing these words, they truly come from my heart. You may not realize it but you need him too.
You may not realize it now, but you #need Him too. #fmfparty #hymnof the day Share on XDo you know his peace today?
1 Peter 5:7 instructs us to “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” Oh, the peace that this brings to me. Instead of lying in my bed worrying, I can rest in His arms of peace and safety.
One final word of encouragement from my favorite book of the Bible, Philippians. Chapter 4…
4 Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! 5 Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon.
6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
8 And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
9 Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.
Call out to Him today. Tell Him what you need. You won’t regret it.
Sincerely,
An Old Hymn Favorite, I Need Thee Every Hour (There’s nothing like four men singing acapella)
