Safe in His Arms Living by Faith

hymn of week
The name of the Lord is a strong fortress; the godly run to him and are safe.

 Life has sure been throwing me some curves lately.

There’s been illness, job loss, and interruption of ministry and just life in general.

But God has been right there with us.

(I love that “BUT GOD” statement. Don’t you?)

My faith has not been torn apart.

But rather it has been strengthened.

There is nothing now to fall back on or depend on, but Him.

I only have Jesus.

I am Safe

And He has been faithful to keep me and my family safe.

He always has.

He always will.

I know that no matter what comes tomorrow, He will be there.

No matter what happens in our lives, our country, our world, God has a plan and He will always keep us safe in His arms.
No matter what happens in our lives, our country, our world, God has a plan Share on X

Aren’t you glad we can live by faith and have no alarms?

I am.

 I love the hymn, Living by Faith by James Wells

As a child, I mostly just loved the harmony and the echo parts.

That is still wonderful to me, but now I especially love the words.

Living by Faith
words by James Wells and Robert Winsett
Music by J. L. Heath

I care not today what the morrow may bring,
If shadow or sunshine or rain,
The Lord I know ruleth o’er everything,
And all of my worries are vain.

Refrain

Living by faith in Jesus above,
Trusting, confiding in His great love;
From all harm safe in His sheltering arm,
I’m living by faith and feel no alarm.

Though tempests may blow and the storm clouds arise,
Obscuring the brightness of life,
I’m never alarmed at the overcast skies—
The Master looks on at the strife.

Refrain

I know that He safely will carry me through,
No matter what evils betide;
Why should I then care though the tempest may blow,
If Jesus walks close to my side.

Refrain

Our Lord will return for His loved ones some day,
Our troubles will then all be o’er;
The Master so gently will lead us away,
Beyond that blest heavenly shore.
